Windows Mail Account Setup

1. Before you get going, you require the information sent by Conceptia including:

If you do not have this information then please contact us as you will not be able to continue with the setup.

2. Start Windows Mail, and then under the 'Tools' menu dropdown located at the top of the program, press the 'Accounts' tab, and a new window should open up for the account setup to begin.

3. Press the 'Add' tab.

4.Follow on by pressing on the 'E-mail Account' tab where indicated to select an account type and press 'Next'. This will open the Internet Connection Wizard.

5. On the 'Your Name' page of the wizard, type your name as you want it to appear to everyone who gets e-mail messages from you, and then press the 'Next' tab. For consistency it is best to use your full name, and blank spaces are fine to use in this part.

6. On the 'Internet E-mail Address' page, type your e-mail address, and then press the 'Next' tab.

7. Next is the 'Setup E-mail Servers' page. Make sure that you select 'POP3' from the select box and then fill in the next two boxes, refering to the incoming server (mail.conceptia.co.uk) and outgoing server (mail.conceptia.co.uk).

8. On the 'Internet Mail Login' page, type your account username and password. Your username is the your email address previously inserted into the setup and the password which Conceptia have sent to you. Click the checkbox labelled 'Remember Password'.

9. Press the 'Next' tab, followed by the 'Finish' tab without checking the checkbox to delay downloading your e-mail to complete the setup.

Now Windows Mail will try to connect and find the host, and should take no longer than 30 seconds, once it does so, the first stage of setup is complete, however if you experience problems at this point please check over the information you have entered for any possible errors and that you are connected to the internet.

10. Navigate along the top menu bar, and you will find 'Accounts..' under the 'tools' dropdown. Clicking on this will open a window displaying your mail accounts. By highlighting the account that you have just created and then clicking on the 'properties' button on the right will allow you to change various settings.

Another window will display with 5 tabs along the top. Most of this information should already be completed from doing the initial setup, but now if you click on the tab labelled 'Advanced', listed at the top is 'Outgoing Mail (SMTP)'. As default this will be set as Port 25, however this needs to be changed to Port 255 in order to be authenticated and send mail out. Once changed to Port 255 click on the 'Apply' button at the bottom and then close the windows.
